Working at the Washington Post
In the spring of 2019, I found myself working as a Multiplatform News Designer at the Washington Post. During this fellowship, I learned to design daily newspaper sections (mainly Style and Local), work with ArchieML and code custom graphic stories.
Some fun facts about my fellowship:
For one of my first custom pieces, I was designing the digital presentation of photos by David LaChapelle.
I got to help add live annotations to the Mueller report on my 21st birthday.
All of the photos for this STAMP story about the Algerian Protests that I designed were shot on an iPhone.
After this story was published, a GoFundMe was set up for Eddie Adams that raised over $141,000 in donations.
I was able to work on this long-term project about women over the age of 50, design both the digital and print versions of the story.
And, most importantly, I got to meet and work with some of the most talented people I’ve met.
